In Nigeria, the shrubs of J. carnea are grown around homesteads and act as fences, which are easy to grow and propagate from stem cuttings by pushing the stems 1 to 2 inches into the soil (Mabberley, 1997). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the methanol extract of Justicia carnea may exhibit hepatoprotective properties that may be effective in the management of liver toxicity.
