Yosemite National Park is a wonderful destination to visit year round. It might seem daunting to think about riding 12 miles of bike trails throughout the valley with a toddler or small child in tow, but it is mostly flat and easy riding. One of the best reasons for a summer visit to Yosemite with kids is the abundance of family friendly programming at the park. Parking is located just beyond the fee station at the end of Geary Road. All the elevation gain in the first 1.2 miles. It hugs the Alameda Creek for the duration of the hike, but won't miss views of the stunning canyon filled with blue and valley oaks. We didnt walk far, so this walk can easily be handled by most people. Our kids enjoyed running around in what used to be a lake spotting small water snakes swimming in the small pools.
